The Beautiful Piano

Tags: , , , ,

In Theory, to play the piano, all you have to do is push the right keys to make a beautiful sound. No matter who plays an F on a piano, the sound is identical. A piano key is ¾ inch wide which is nive because even a five year old can learn to play. Therefore, piano has been the instrument of choice for a child. Physically the musical process is very easy- Also adults find is easy as well.

Adults and children alike, can understand and learn to play a simple two-note chord, consisting of any white key, skipping one, and playing the next. With minimal effort a people can plunk out a tune that they recognize, giving them at least a preview of what playing music is actually like. For example, Mary Had a Little Lamb, is a matter of a few moments for any child to learn in Piano by Number. Don’t get me wrong, the piano takes a lot of time and patience to master, but once you do, it is worth it. The piano is one of the most versatile instruments out there and one of the most beautiful sounding.

Playing the piano was always a dream of mine. My mother put me in piano lessons as a child and for some odd reason, I wanted nothing to do with it. I felt that my hands were too small and I couldn’t reach the keys. I also becoming increasingly obsessed with sports so do you think I honestly wanted to sit down at a piano? Not so much, but today I look back and I regret that decision. My mother still sits down to play this beautiful instrument and it makes me envy her talent and the joy she has as she sings along. I love the sounds that echo through my parents home when I am visiting. It brings back memories of when I was a child and my mother would practice choruses and hymns before Sunday Worship. I love my mother- and I love her Piano.

One of these days I will sit down at a piano and try once more for me; for my mother.

Brangelina: Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt

Tags: , , ,

BrangelinaMick Jagger (66) is supposed to have slept with Angelina Jolie (34) while he was engaged to Jerry Hall, which still was married to Johnny Lee Miller. Oh Hollywood, your lovestorys should not be this confusing!

There are new speculations about Angelina Jolie’s, let’s be polite, “love life” every day. Now it’s Jenny Paul, who is set to reveal delicate insight into Jolie’s bedtime stories in her new biography “Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie: The True Story”.

First time both Jolie and Jagger are supposed to have met on the set of the Stones video “Anybody Seen My Baby”. Jolie caught a role in this production, the role to put her clothes off. She played a stripper who is being attacked by a band.

Now is Angelina the maneater the press is imputing her to?

There’s a rumor about her and Brad pitt (46) already had an affair while he was together with Jennifer Aniston. Both are denying this, but it was Angelina Jolie who disclosed that Brad and her was falling in love during the making of “Mr. And Mrs. Smith” in an interview. At that time he still was allied with Jen Aniston though.

It was after “Mr. And Mrs. Smith” was finished, when the Mick Jagger incident is supposed to have taken place.

Jenny Paul is reporting in her biography about Brangelina, that the Rockstar Jagger and Angelina are reputed to have had met even six years after their first romance, 2003 in Bangkok. Obviously Mick Jagger had a girlfriend back then already: L’Wren Scott, who still is with him.

The bio allegedly reveils even more affairs of Jolie. It’s said that she actually was getting close to Colin Farrell (33) during their shooting of “Alexander”, which was highly speculated through the press.

The end. You think so? The show must go on:

When Angelina and Brad finally got together in 2004, she is supposed to have maintained two sexual relationships with the Actor Ralph Fiennes as well es her ex husband Johnny Lee Miller.
Sigh. Come on Jenny Paul, this sounds crazy. Paul defends those storys as facts as she was researching those for over 6 years, talking to Jolies companions.

By the way, Jolie is shooting a new movie these days named “The Tourist” playing alongside nobody else but Johnny Depp. Be strong Vanessa Paradis!

Vincent van Gogh – Biography

Vincent van Gogh – Biography

“Vincent van Gogh was born near Brabant, the son of a minister. In 1869, he got a position at the art dealers, Goupil and Co. in The Hague, through his uncle, and worked with them until he was dismissed from de London office in 1873. He worked as a schoolmaster in England (1876), before training for the ministry at Amsterdam University (1877). After he failed to get a post in the church, he went to live as an independent missionary among the Borinage miners.

He was largely self-taught as an artist, although he received help from his cousin, Mauve. His first work were heavily painted, mud colored and clumsy attempts to represent the life of the poor(e.g., Potato-Eaters, 1885 Amsterdam), influenced by one of his artistic heroes, Millet. He moved to Paris in 1886, living with his devoted brother, Theo, who as a dealer introduced him to artists like Gauguin, Pissarro, Seurat and Toulouse-Lautrec. In Paris, he discovered color as well as the divisionist ideas which helped to create the distinctive dashed brushstroke of his late work (e.g., Pere Tanguy, 1887, Paris). He moved to Arles, in the south os France, in 1888, hoping to establish an artists’ colony there, and was immediately struck by the hot reds and yellows of the Mediterranean, which he increasingly used symbolically to represent his own moods (e.g., Sunflowers, 1888, London, National Gallery). He was joined briefly by Gauguin in October 1888, and managed is some works to combine his own ideas with the latter’s Synthetism (e.g., The Sower, 1888, Amsterdam), but the visit was not a success. A final argument led to the infamous episode in which Van Gogh mutilated his ear.

In 1889, he became a voluntary patient at the St. Remy asylum, where he continued to paint, often making copies of artists he admired. His palette softened to mauves and pinks, but his brushwork was increasingly agitated, the dashes constructed into swirling, twister shapes, often seen as symbolic of his mental state ( e.g., Ravine, 1889, Otterlo). He moved to Auvers, to be closer to Theo in 1890 – his last 70 days spent in a hectic program of painting. His died, having sold only one work, following a botched suicide attempt. His life is detailed in a series of letters to his brother (published 1959)”.

THE GLOBALIZATION OF TOURISM

The Globalization of Tourism

“The World Tourism Organization’s forecasts are on target, international tourist arrivals will climb from the present 625 million a year to 1.6 billion in 2020. By this date, travelers will spend over US$ 2 trillion, (against US$ 44.5 billion today), making tourism the world’s leading industry.
Electronic technology is facilitating this growth by offering access to fare and hotel information and online reservation service. Despite a modest annual growth rate (3.1%), Europe will remain, by far, the most popular destination (it can expect 717 million international arrivals in 2020, double the 1998 figure), though its market share will decline from 59 to 45%. Growth on the continent will be led by Central and Eastern European countries, where arrivals are expected to increase by
4.8% per year. At the same time, almost half the world’s tourist will be coming from Europe. Given this dominance, it is not surprising to find that six European countries count among the top ten tourism earners and spenders. The United States holds first place in both categories.
With a 7% per annum growth in international arrivals, the East Asia/Pacific region will overtake the Americas as the second most popular destination, holding a 27% market share in 2020 against 18% by the Americas. But the industry will also be doing its utmost to court the Asian traveler, since East Asia/Pacific is forecast to become the world’s second most important generator of tourist, with a 7% annual growth rate, pushing the Americas into third position. China is expected to become the fourth lagest source of tourists on the world market, while it is not even among the first twenty today. Both arrivals to and departures from Africa (and especially Southern Africa), the Middle East and South Asia are expected to grow by above 5% per year.
While France has held its place as the top destination throughout the 1990s, it will be dethroned in the next decades, with China ( excluding Hong Kong) expected to top the list by 2020 even though it is not even featured on it today. Also making an entry into the top ten are the Russian Federation, Hong Kong, and the Czech Republic.
Despite this growth forecast, tourism is and will remain the privilege of a few: WTO forecast that only 7% of the world population will travel abroad by 2020”.

The new Kindle DX is going to be a great hit seller for all those people out there that loves to read. The Kindle DX can be used for personal or business. The New Kindle DX seems to me that is really slim and easy to carry no matter where you are. The DX is so slim that it can be stored anywere so u can store the device more securley and wont get lost or stolen. Some studies that i have read are talking about how much bigger the screen is compared to the Kindle 1 and 2. The DX has 3g wireless that makes buying and downloading so much faster. The DX has a rotating screen that makes it easier for you to read maps, graphs exc. My oppinion on the Kindle DX is wow! Specialy for the older eyes the bigger screen and tex will keep from making you get headaches and having to squint your eyes so much. I think that is one of the new great features that the DX has to offer. The DX comes in two sizes. 9.7″ and the 6″. It is going to be realeased of January 19, 2010. Supplies will be short cause these things will go like hotcakes. The prices on the new DX will surley vary depending on where you purchase them at. The prices that i have found on the device is $489.00. To me this is a good price considering all the advantages that it has to offer. I think that if you buy the new DX you will be very pleased with its amazing ablilities and fast progress.

THOUGHTS OF A MILITARY FATHER

I hope that when you read this you can take into account that so many of our soldiers have traveled around the world just to keep us safe. Most have seen things that other cant even imagine. I have been there and have that it is still hard to express to the ones that I love what I went through and why I focus so hard on showing everyone around me each day how much they mean to me. I have found that writing these short stories helps some times even though Im not sure if the meaning of them is clear. My post are to give you a look inside the mind of a soldier that on one side has seen unspeakable death and destruction but on the other is a loving husband and father. Please check back as I add more to this. the more that read, the more I wil post!

He wakes and steps to the door. The door leads to a new place and each time he wakes he hesitates to open it. The memories of days before rush through his head in a cloud of groggy haze. Some make him feel warm like a summer day with a gentle breeze blowing through his heart. The faces of his wife and kids lead most of these thoughts like a slide show in his mind. The memories are so real that for a moment he can hear his wives voice like a whisper in the wind and he gasp a quick breath and then its gone.
The other memories are more like the aching pain he feels in his joints after a long day of work. Throbbing deep below the surface, out of reach of any relief. The faces with these memories have no names, just strangers that come and go with each passing day. Too many to remember where they was from or were they was to go. The days blend together and the time stretches as the hours spent away from home seem like years. As these memmories rush into his head a cold sensation runs up his spine chilling him right to the bone. The traveler then takes a deep breath and prepares to open the door to the new days voyage. He knows that the longer he stands at the door the longer the day will be. So with that he opens the door and steps into the whirl wind of time and begins the voyage that will follow a long road home. That’s his drive and that then becomes the focus of his mind as he steps out the door into the reckage of hate and war, he takes comfort in knowing that today is the new beginning to the end and home is just a few more open doors away. He smiles and looks forward to when the faces on the other side of the opening door are the angels of his love living in his heart and home.

Harry Potter and the prisoners of Azkaban

Tags: , , ,

harrypotterHarry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is the third film in the Harry Potter series and was directed by Mexican director Alfonso Cuaron. K. Rowling and was released on 4 June 2004 a year and half after the film premiered earlier, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.

The script-by Steve Kloves, presents an adaptation of the novel that took more liberties than in the case of the first two films in the series. This provoked mixed reactions among fans more supportive of an adaptation true of the literary text. The film pays more attention to psychological and sexual maturation of the trio  and, according to critics, has a darker tone and consistent with the story of the fugitive Sirius Black, of course devoted servant of the man who left without Harry Potter family. Despite changes in tone, continuity and casting, The Prisoner of Azkaban is, so far, one of the films in the series that has achieved more positive reviews. Further, the novelist stated at the time that The Prisoner of Azkaban was his favorite adaptation to date.

The length of the tape–141 minutes made it his time in the shortest of the series, although the novel as it was based had a length greater than that of its predecessors. The film retained this position until he was released the fifth film in the series.

After an altercation at the house of his uncles, the Dursleys, Harry runs away knowing I could be expelled from Hogwarts for using magic outside of school. [Note 1] on board the Knight Bus comes to the Leaky Cauldron pub in London where learns that a dangerous murderer named Sirius Black escaped from Azkaban prison mysteriously. However, Harry concludes that Black is looking for a reason and, indeed, as Arthur Weasley warns, Black is behind him because he was one of the most ardent followers of Lord Voldemort and Harry wants to kill in revenge for the disappearance of his master.

After the tavern reunited with Hermione and Ron, the three teenagers leave school due to school Hogwarts on the train. Along the way, the vehicle is stopped by an apparent mechanical damage is approached by creatures of immense size, whose presence Harry faints. Remus Lupine-boarding the new teacher-saves the kids and explains that these creatures are Dementors, the guards of Azkaban. Albus Dumbledore announces Director in his welcome address that the order of the Ministry of Magic the Dementors custodiarían access to campus and warn students not to approach them.

When students return from an excursion to the village of Hogsmeade find that the portrait by which you access the Gryffindor common room had been slashed. The Fat Lady-box-dweller confesses she had been attacked by Sirius Black and the murderer can be found in the castle yet. Dumbledore begins a search through the whole school but Black does not appear. On the next trip to Hogsmeade, Harry arrives at the village using the Marauder’s Map, [note 2] a device that had given the Weasley twins. He listens to Professor Minerva Fernandez Losantos Nonaya who recounted that Black had been a friend of the Potters had betrayed them and selling them to Voldemort, in addition to killing Peter Pettigrew who had tried to warn the marriage. He also discovers that Black is Harry’s godfather and the latter swears to kill him when you find it.

Lupine professor decides to give Harry private lessons after the boy was attacked by the Dementors in the middle of a Quidditch match. Lupine taught the Patronus charm by which it could fend off the monstrous beings. One night, the boy discovers on the map that Peter Pettigrew is prowling the corridors of the castle but you can not find the supposedly dead magician and Lupine dismisses the possibility.

By late summer, Harry, Hermione and Ron come to visit the ranger Rubeus Hagrid, whose hippogriff, Buckbeak, will be executed for attacking a student in class. When the sentence will be enforced, Ron’s rat Scabbers-escapes and all three are chasing up the Whomping Willow. At that time you see a big black dog who kidnaps Ron with your pet dragging him to the House of Screams. There, the dog is revealed as the fugitive Sirius Black. Lupine is in the midst of struggle and reveals that Black was not guilty of selling Harry’s parents but Peter Pettigrew, who like Black is an Animagus with the ability to take animal form. The rat Scabbers turns out to be the magician disappeared and traitor.

The group Pettigrew partially arrested, but the full moon appears in the sky and Lupine-who had turned out to be a wolf-man transforms and attacks the group. Pettigrew escapes while Black tries to become a dog and drive away the beast is wounded in battle, Harry helps his godfather but the Dementors surround them. Before collapsing, the boy sees that the other side of the lake one can conjure a Patronus to ward off the legions of monsters that had been about to kill them.

Black is sentenced to receive the “Dementor’s Kiss,” which condemns extirpate him his soul. When students awake in the infirmary warn Dumbledore that the Ministry of Magic had captured the wrong wizard. This is the only solution giratiempo use, a device that Hermione had used secretly to attend several classes throughout the year back time. Together, Harry and Hermione make different arrangements in the course of events and also released Buckbeak before it is executed; also discover that the temporal paradox called Harry’s Patronus that drove the Dementors. Then, riding the back of a hippogriff, Sirius flees abroad after promising his godson to meet again.
