Remote_Car_Starter_Needed_in_NJWhat a cold winter we’ve had! It looks like we haven’t done enough for global warming yet. At least when you ask your cabriolet that is parked in your garage, crying its headlights out. Now what do we have to take care of for our car to be maintained after winter?
In winter your car gets stressed. The paint of your car had to suffer from rocks, salt and moisture. Road salt is dangerous! Resolved in water it is gnawing even the smallest piece of your car. Especially on your vehicle’s undercarriage this salt water is the main cause of rust.

Follow these steps to maintain your car:

  • Before you drive the vehicle through the car wash, dismantle the antenna or pass on and fix it. The rear view mirrors should be folded if possible.
  • The best wash program to select is one with active foam, pre-wash and underbody wash. A mixture of salt and dirt cause rust damage straight to the underbody.
  • An engine cleaning should only be undertaken by a specialist. Don’t try to clean it with the pressure washer in the engine compartment (yourself), this may result in serious damage to the vehicle.
  • After washing the paint should be treated with preservatives like car wax.
  • Thoroughly clean the inside from sand and stoneswith a vacuum cleaner.
  • For the cleaning of upholstery and seat covers it is recommends an expert to look into the manual at hand. The vehicle manufacturers used many different materials that are not suitable for any cleaning.
  • For valves and plastic parts there are special funds. Splendor sprays should should be avoided. The spray makes the surfaces of the pedals and the steering wheel slippery, which can have serious consequences.
  • The dirt coating on the inside can be environmentally friendly removed with good window cleaning products. Thus you are preventing dangerous glare caused by light reflections. When cleaning the back wheel do not cut across the heating elements, not to damage the rear window defroster

  • The occasion of spring cleaning can be used in order to check your car after the winter. In the state of fluids such as oil, coolant and windscreen wash water should be checked. It is also important to check tires. The tire pressure should be reviewed on all wheels, including the spare wheel as well. Even intact tires slowly lose air. Have a look at the wear of the tires and make sure they still have more than 0.1563 inch (5/32″) profile. Similarly, you should check the tires for damage, such as one-sided abrasion, foreign bodies, cracks, dents or cuts.

After you’ve cleaned your car, make sure to repair any damage (such as defects in paint work) immediatly to avoid costly repairs in the future.
